5 reasons teams outgrow Runo

Runo is a capable call-tracking app. These are the walls teams hit when they need a full CRM. Every claim cites Runo's own pricing, FAQ or integrations page.

WhatsApp is a ₹149 add-on — and bulk send is 'under development'.

Runo's pricing page lists 'WhatsApp Business — ₹149/user/month + GST' as a separate add-on line, not included in any base tier. Runo's own FAQ states: 'this feature is related to WABA control and is currently under development. Once completed, users will be able to send bulk messages directly from the platform.' The WhatsApp CRM product page marks auto-replies and quick responses as 'coming soon'.

An Indian SMB buying Runo at ₹599 is actually paying ₹748 once they add WhatsApp — and bulk broadcast, the single most-used feature in Indian sales, isn't live yet.

Runo's integrations page lists WhatsApp, a generic 'Lead Source' webhook, Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Google Sheets and Google Analytics — no IndiaMART, 99acres, JustDial, MagicBricks, Housing.com, TradeIndia or Facebook Lead Ads as native connectors. Runo's FAQ: 'We will share with you the open API keys. You can easily integrate it with any lead source' — and 'There's a minimal customization cost of Rs 5000 per integration' if Runo's team does it for you.

Four Indian portals = ₹20,000 in one-time fees, plus ongoing fragility when a portal changes its payload. A real estate or ed-tech team typically needs 4–6 portals live on day one.

No visual workflow builder. Automation is follow-up reminders, not 'if X then Y'.

Runo's Lead Management page describes automation as: 'Timely reminders help your team follow up before leads lose interest' and 'Automatically assign leads to the right sales rep based on your custom rules.' The FAQ has no entry for workflow builder, branching automation or conditional flows. No visual automation tool is advertised on the product, WhatsApp CRM or Sales CRM pages.

A team that wants 'if lead from IndiaMART AND budget > 80L AND property type = 3BHK, assign to senior broker, send WhatsApp template A, create task in 2 days, escalate after 48h' cannot build that in Runo without custom API work.

One flat funnel. No kanban. No multiple pipelines.

Runo's FAQ on pipelines: 'Admins can define custom lead stages like New, In progress, Closed Won, Closed Lost etc.' The Lead Management page refers to a 'funnel' — singular. No mention of kanban boards, multiple pipelines per product line, or per-pipeline stage models anywhere on Runo's product pages.

Real estate brokerages sell rental + resale + commercial — three pipelines. Education runs inbound + reactivation — two. One flat funnel forces every deal into the same view.

Reports are Excel exports, not a customisable analytics layer.

Runo's FAQ: 'Runo provides all call logs, dispositions, customers, follow-up reports, and user activity reports' — 'all reports can be exported in Excel format.' The Call Tracking page describes dashboards as 'Live dashboards show daily call volume, talk time, and team activity' — a fixed set. No mention of a custom report builder, pivot analytics or cross-tab dashboards.

A sales manager who wants 'conversion by source by rep by week with funnel drop-off' ends up doing Excel gymnastics on exported CSVs every Monday.
